Never Hired A Copywriter Before?

.

Just Want To Know How It Works?

If you’d like to make a lot of money as quickly as possible then this is the most important website you’ll ever read.

My name is Hugh Thyer, and I’m a direct response copywriter and direct marketing consultant.

And what makes this website so important to you is that it explains exactly what a copywriter is, how you work with a copywriter like me and why I can produce the words that will sell your product or service.

So let’s start by answering the #1 question…

What Is A Copywriter?

A copywriter writes advertising materials. It could be a sales letter, space ad, website, introductory letter, landing page, FAQ insert, order form, email series, business proposal, webpages, flyer or pretty much any type of advertising you need.

But a good copywriter does a lot more. We become your ‘Sales-Department-In-A-Box’. I give you simple but powerful strategies that few people know and fewer use. Strategies to get, retain and increase the value of customers and clients. The materials and systems you get from a good copywriter can be used over and over again to bring in more money whenever you’re ready. And they’re all designed to be turned on and off like a tap, any time you’re ready to increase your business again.

It means you don’t need to hire your own sales team BECAUSE…

…Your sales copy does all the work for you.

“Hugh is one of the best I’ve seen going around in many, many years. If you want copy THAT SELLS and you want it at a fair price then Hugh is your number one pick. I would personally rank him in the top 5 copywriters in Australia.Try him, you’ll be delighted.”

Here’s How It Works…

Step 1.

You get a copy of my Copywriting Questionnaire. This gives me all sorts of information about you, your product or service and your prospects. It takes around 30-60 minutes to fill in, but you wont find a more profitable way to spend this time. Some of my clients find they also like to spend some time on the phone with me after filling in the questionnaire too.

Step 2.

Once I get your questionnaire back I go through it in detail so I can put together your proposal.  At times your proposal may contain more than one option.

That’s because my job is to show you how to make as much money as you can and help make it happen.  And sometimes this means recommending a sales campaign that might be a bit different to what you asked for.

For example, some of the things you may need with a sales letter for an online product:

An order form, a landing page  and email auto-responder series.

And for an offline campaign, you may also need:

An order form, an FAQ insert, a cover letter, follow up letters or a success story insert.

And I explain each of the components in full detail so you know what it is, and why I recommend it. Don’t worry though, this is just an option, and I’ll still quote your job exactly as you’ve requested.

I also give you a timeframe for completing your project, and tell you what else I need from you, such as testimonials, success stories, your personal story and perhaps your photo. Like an investigator off C.S.I. I sift through all this information and use it to build a bullet-proof case for your product or service.

Step 3.

Once you accept the proposal simply send sign it and return it to me via fax or email. A 50% starting deposit is required, and the rest is paid on completion. And then we’re on our way.

Step 4.

Now I get stuck in and write your package. Once I’ve written the first draft I send it to you so you can review it and give me feedback. I take your feedback and get to work on the final package.

Step 5.

Once you submit the final payment I send you the final sales copy. It’s in MS-Word format, and offline packages are produced exactly as they should be sent. Little things such as how pages end can impact response, and the copy I send you is 100% ready for the printer. Even details such as long names if you’re doing a mail merge are factored in.

Online sales copy is sent in MS-Word format and laid out so your developer can put it together.

And if you don’t have a developer, I can organise this for you as well at a reasonable cost. And you can pay them directly if you like. I’ve no interest in taking a cut.

But don’t worry, because it doesn’t end there. I’m with you for the long haul and am on hand to review your package if it’s online, or simply answer questions so you get it all right.

I also give you pointers on how to send an off-line campaign so it gets the maximum opening rate. There are quite a few things to do when packaging up your sales package, and I’ll tell you how to do it so you virtually guarantee everyone opens it.

“We were very impressed with the level of professionalism and high quality of service delivered by Hugh. Although we had little experience in writing sales copy, Hugh guided us through the whole process, and made it very easy to complete the project. His work was very detailed and was always completed on time. Hugh went above and beyond to understand our requirements and created a product that exactly matched our needs. I would highly recommend Hugh for anyone looking to bring their business to the new level with the help of a high quality sales copy.”

Anyhow, here are a couple more things you should before you consider hiring me

My Ethical Standards

  • I never ever ever make up testimonials or use made up testimonials. This is not only wrong, it’s downright illegal.
  • If I suspect you’ve sent me some false information, such as claims that can’t be substantiated or proof of your product that feels wrong, I may ask you to show me you’re on the level. I don’t do sales copy for hogwash products and make no apologies for this.
  • I am the only person who writes your sales copy. I do not outsource my work to other writers.

7 Things Your Copywriter SHOULD Do When Writing Your Sales Copy

I can’t say how many copywriters do all these 7 things, but to me they’re absolutely critical for getting top notch results.

1. Follow An Established, PROVEN Process. As you’ve probably worked out, I follow proven systems for writing wildly successful sales packages. It’s how I go about writing sales copy each time, from small jobs to packages that could be 20, 30 or more pages. You might be surprised to know this, but I often spend hours pulling together everything I need to focus on in my sales copy…

…before I write a single word.

But without this preparation critical points get missed. And quite often that makes the difference between a thoroughly prepared sales package that gets results, and one that’s been rushed that fails.

2. Find The Hook. The hook is that idea that grabs your reader by the eyeballs and makes them want to know more. It’s there in pretty much any product or service but it takes some serious digging to find. A lot of copywriters are lazy and wont make the effort, which means their client gets mediocre results at best. But I love uncovering it because it completely grabs your prospect and makes them want to know more.

3. Research, Research And Research Some More. The more I research, the more I uncover about your industry and prospects. I feel like a gold miner from the 1850s, sifting through the information you sent me, reading articles, papers and even hanging out on forums in your industry just to find that little nugget of information that later proves critical.

4. Get To Know Your Market. When I write any advertising I have a detailed picture of my ideal prospect all worked out. Like a surgeon performing a delicate operation, I carefully dissect what’s going on in their mind before I begin. After all, the secret to great sales is to find the conversation that’s already going on in your prospect’s head and enter it.

5. Ask For Action.  Too many copywriters get to the end of their sales letter or advertisement and wimp out asking for the money. This is a big mistake and it costs their clients big time. The whole sales package is built around this crucial point, and if it’s done poorly it brings it all undone. A good copywriter will build a compelling case, and when the time is right, finish it off and ask for action.

6. Get them on the opening. The most important real estate on any sales copy is the opening page, or the opening screen online. If you get your prospect here they’ll keep reading. But if you don’t get them straight away, it’s game over and you’ve lost them. I spend as much time on perfecting this one bit as I do on the rest of the package. It’s that important.

7. Forget the empty hype. Please let me clarify the difference between emotion and hype. Copywriters use emotions throughout their sales copy. That’s because people are seething masses of emotions, swirling around inside their often straight faced exteriors. And hitting those emotional sweet spots is what gets us results.

But hype is just empty words and meaningless catch-phrases. They might sound exciting but there’s no substance to them. And people ain’t stupid. Nobody buys anything on hype. If a copywriter can’t produce a compelling argument which proves your case then you simply wont make money. Despite what other copywriters tell you, getting someone to ‘whip out their wallet’ is not easy. People don’t give away their money without a damn good reason. Hype simply doesn’t cut it.
